We received 23 applications for the 2013 SARCE Internship program. The selected participants were:

 

 

Cristiane Xerex Barroso: Ph.D. student at the Universidade Federal do Ceará in Brazil. Her field of research is biogeography of marine gastropods.

María Paula Raffo: Ph.D. student at the Centro Nacional Patagónico (CENPAT) in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. Her field of research is intertidal marine macroalgae and invasive species.

Luis Miguel Cuellar: Biologist form the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. His field of research is vulnerability, conservation, and population biology of marine organisms.

María Emiliana Rechimont: Ph.D. student at the Centro Nacional Patagónico (CENPAT) in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. Her field of research is community ecology, particularly the distribution and abundance of benthic invertebrates.

Mirtala Parragué: Biologist working at the Estación Costera de Investigaciones Marinas (ECIM), Las Cruces, associated to the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Her field of research is ecology and conservation of coastal ecosystems, particularly recruitment and patterns of intertidal biodiversity.
